I just finished a 2 week cleanse. This is not an official program, I just made this up.
Disclaimer: I am not great at cleanses or diets. I have tried this one before, and it does feel good.
I noticed puffiness in my face start to subside after 2 days of not drinking. I got used to not eating sweets during the day. I substituted almond milk in my coffee, took the cheese off sandwiches, and avoided pizza. It's only for 2 weeks.
Some of my friends take on "Dryuary" which means no alcohol in all of January. A way to cleanse after the holidays. For me, 4 weeks felt a bit long to be realistic, so I decided on a more strict plan for a shorter duration. I was not extreme. I did not eat a ton of kale or drink vegetable juice. I ate french fries and hamburgers.
I did feel good though!
I challenge you to give up one or two or three things for 2 weeks. You can do it! It breaks some habits and allows you to start fresh with decisions. Sometimes it is good to reset.
